That’s exciting news! The cast for Squid Game Season 2 includes returning actors Lee Jung-jae, Lee Byung-Hun, Wi Ha-jun, and Gong Yoo. They will be joined by four newcomers: Yim Si-Wan, Kang Ha-Neul, Park Sung-Hoon, and Yang Dong-Geun. This ensemble of talented actors will continue to bring the intense and gripping story to life in the second season.

Squid Game has garnered significant acclaim and recognition, earning three Golden Globe nominations and making history as the first non-English show to receive four major SAG nominations. The performances of the cast members, including O Yeong-su’s award-winning portrayal of Oh Il-nam/Player 001, have been widely praised.

The series is created by writer-director Dong-Hyuk, known for his work on notable South Korean films such as The Fortress, Miss Granny, and Silenced. Squid Game revolves around a group of 456 individuals facing financial hardships who accept a mysterious invitation to participate in children’s games on a remote island. Little do they know that the games come with life-threatening consequences, adding a high-stakes element to their desperate pursuit of the 456 billion won prize.

“It took 12 years to bring the first season of Squid Game to life last year. But it took 12 days for Squid Game to become the most popular Netflix series ever. As the writer, director and producer of Squid Game, a huge shout out to fans around the world. Thank you for watching and loving our show,” said Dong-Hyuk. “And now, Gi-hun returns. The Front Man returns. Season 2 is coming. The man in the suit with ddakji might be back. You’ll also be introduced to Young-hee’s boyfriend, Cheol-su. Join us once more for a whole new round.”
