Rocket League is an amazingly fun video game from Psyonix where you can play soccer with cars! It’s really enjoyable. Well, Psyonix recently announced that later this summer, Rocket League will be available for free.
In addition, players will be able to experience cross-platform progress by linking an Epic Games Account to the game. Of course, when the game goes FTP, it will also release on the Epic Games Store. The deal is that when this happens, fans will not be able to download the game via Steam.
If you have a Steam version you ill still be able to play all future updates and features, but no new players will be playing the game on Steam.
If you’ve been playing Rocket League or do play before it goes FTP, you’ll be provided a few perks:
-
All Rocket League-branded DLC released before free to play
-
“Est. 20XX” title that displays the year when the player first started playing Rocket League
-
200+ Common items upgraded to “Legacy” quality
-
Golden Cosmos Boost
-
Dieci-Oro Wheels
-
Huntress Player Banner
This is not it, if you played Rocket League before the announcement on July 21, you’ll be given the Faded Cosmos Boost. All of these items will be given once the game goes free to play. Sadly, we do not have an actual release date for when Rocket League will become FTP, but more details have been promised in the coming days, so stay tuned.
