Nintendo announced a few weeks back that they would be closing down the eShops for the 3DS and Wii U in March 2023, but no specific date was revealed. It was recently announced that the closure will happen on March 27, 2023, and on August 29, 2022, you’ll no longer be able to add money to the accounts. The company does reiterate that you will still be able to redownload games, download updates, and even play titles online. You just can’t buy any more content through the eShop on those systems.
Updates on the discontinuation of #eShop for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS family systems:
– As of 8/29/2022, it will no longer be possible to add funds.
– As of 3/27/2023, purchases will no longer be available.More details:https://t.co/T1GJfjxYMF
