The awesome new Need for Speed is coming. It seems, the new Need for Speed will have such amazing graphics, that the old systems won’t be able to handle it. Now, we get to know more about these graphics, which do sound like they’re going to be pretty unique.
It’s going to be photo-realistic, but it’s going to have on top of that, anime elements. You know when you see a car commercial or something like that and the car’s driving around, but then cartoons flames and stuff are flying off it? That’s the kind of the aesthetic that they seem to be going for.
Sounds like nothing I ever heard of, but it also does sound like it poses the risk of becoming extremely annoying. Still, like an Initial D fan, I always felt like we’re long overdue an anime racing game, and it sounds like the new Need for Speed will at least partially fill that hole. Who knows, if the anime aesthetics are already halfway implemented, maybe we can toggle them on entirely… it would certainly make the game stand out even more.
Grubb also has some news on the game’s multiplayer, which, according to him, will feature autolog. Autolog is an in-game social network, and, if you ask me, any in-game social network has always been proved annoying so far, so this is not for me.
Need for Speed: A fictional version of Chicago, by the name of Lake Shore City. We will find out soon when the new Need for Speed is launched.
