Hot Wheels toy cars are a thing of love and many of us spent countless hours playing with them. I loved racing thee cars with my friends on our homemade cardboard tracks coming up with all sorts of insane and imaginative car stunts, this is going to be awesome.
Milestone is developing a new video game which is called Hot Wheels Unleashed, and the first cinematic trailer has been released.
Andrew Chan, the Head of Digital Gaming at Hot Wheels owner Mattel, explained that the new game will give fans the chance to rediscover the brand.
We continue to focus on engaging consumers with our brands through gaming platforms. Hot Wheels is all about encouraging the challenger spirit and Hot Wheels Unleashed brings that mission to life for gamers of all ages. Milestone’s expertise in racing game development has enabled us to transform the Hot Wheels brand into a compelling console and PC gaming experience for both current Hot Wheels fans and gamers who may be rediscovering the iconic brand.”
Hot Wheels Unleashed will put players in control of various kinds of vehicles that make up what Mattel called an “extended choice of Hot Wheels vehicles” and they each have their own attributes and skins. It will also let players “drive the cars as if they were playing with the die-cast toys.”
Players will also be able to customize their tracks through the game’s Track Editor option. Those tracks can then be distributed to other gamers in the community.
The game is also said to have a heavy collection angle with skins, track sets, cars of varying rarity, and other features. Hot Wheels Unleashed will be released on September 30th and you can get it on for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series X.
