Disney, IMAX, and DTS announced that they are getting IMAX’s signature sound by DTS to select movies on the Disney+ streaming service.
Disney+ subscribers that use select devices will now have access to IMAX’s exclusive expanded aspect ratio, which was released in November 2021, as well as the IMAX signature sound, which is set to release this year.
This new feature will work on some, IMAX Enhanced certified televisions from manufacturers like Sony and Hisense. Owners of certified AV receivers from manufacturers like Denon, Marantz, and JBL can also use the new feature at launch as well.
The new function will work on all IMAX Enhanced titles on Disney+, with more titles to be announced sometime later this year.
