Executive producer Malgorzata Mitrega shared that the studio is committed to constantly pushing the limits with each new project. She stated that the team’s drive to innovate has become a defining part of CD Projekt Red’s approach to game development. This next chapter of the series brings a significant change, making Ciri the main character instead of Geralt of Rivia, who has been the face of the series until now.

In the interview, the team also revealed that it selected Ciri because she represents an intriguing mix: she shares Geralt’s courage and honor but also possesses a rebellious streak that makes her unique. As a protagonist, Ciri is quicker, more agile, and shaped by Geralt’s teachings, providing players with a blend of the familiar and the new. While Geralt will still appear in The Witcher 4, the game will center on Ciri, exploring her complex and layered character more deeply.

This game marks the beginning of a new trilogy in the Witcher series, introducing a fresh storyline to the franchise. While players eagerly await more details about the game, CD Projekt Red’s ambition is a clear indication that the studio is working on something substantial.
