Just a few days ago, EA and DICE provided us with a glimpse of the upcoming quality-of-life updates in store for Battlefield 2042’s new season. Now, we have received the full details for Season 5, which is titled “New Dawn” and is set to kick off on June 7th. This exciting season brings a wealth of fresh content to the game, including a brand-new map, an assortment of weapons and gadgets, quality-of-life enhancements, and an extensive Battle Pass with 100 additional tiers of engaging content.

In Season 5, the battlefield shifts to a desolate industrial facility ravaged by both war and nature, situated in the heart of Czechia. This Battlefield 4-inspired map, called Reclaimed, takes players on an intense journey along a covert train route, where survival hinges on tighter squad cooperation than ever before. The Crash Site, where a train has been derailed, provides an ideal setting for vehicular combat, while the forested Landing Zone introduces close-quarters battles and the destruction of trees opens up new strategic sightlines. Moreover, the Abandoned Turbine and Military Warehouse areas offer diverse gameplay experiences, ranging from verticality and ample cover to tight and confined spaces.

Season 5 also introduces a host of fan-favorite weapons from Battlefield 4, each boasting a fresh visual design and distinctive sound. The XCE Bar bolt-action rifle, renowned for its precision, now boasts an expanded attachment system, allowing players to switch between various attachments to engage enemies across different distances effectively. Meanwhile, the beloved Battlefield 4 weapon, GWE-46, excels at delivering short bursts with exceptional stability, making it ideal for medium-range encounters. Additionally, players can wield the formidable BFP.50 hand cannon, dealing devastating damage up close, or take control of the Phalanx CIWS, an anti-aircraft emplacement armed with both guns and missiles, which is now available for play on the Reclaimed map in All Out Warfare modes. Beyond these new weapons, Season 5 introduces the Spring Grenade, Anti-tank Grenade, and Mini Grenade, offering a range of explosive options in combat, including bouncing grenades, impact-detonating grenade bundles, and compact micro grenades that can be thrown with enhanced speed and distance.

Later in Season 5, players can anticipate the arrival of Hourglass, the seventh and final reworked launch map. This revamped version features an additional route beneath the highway, effectively reducing the distance between objectives and enhancing opportunities for cover, sightlines, and thrilling combat encounters.
