Apple AirTag Anti-Stalking Feature Coming in iOS 15.4

There has been some worry about what people may use the Apple AirTag trackers for, especially people using them to stalk and track other individuals without their consent.

Apple revealed that it would be making some modifications to its AirTags to make them difficult for people to use to track other people without their consent.

Today we heard about the new iOS 15.4 beta 4, this software is anticipated to be released next month. This release presented some of the new features that are created to make it harder for AirTags to be used for tracking people.

The new beta now has a message when you pair it with your Apple device that makes it clear that using it to track someone is against the law. It also makes it clear that the device is designed for tracking items that you own and not people.

The message also allows people to know that the AirTag is designed to be detected by victims and that Apple will share details about the device with law enforcement. What this suggests is that if you use an AirTag to track someone, and they find it and inform the police, Apple will share information about you with the police.
