Sensible Soccer was relesaed in 1992 and it is one of the greatest video games of all time, but developers Sensible Software didn’t make their classic in a day. They had to work hard to get there, by creating 1988’s Microprose Soccer first.
In every way, the forerunner to Sensible, Microprose—and it was released in the US as Keith Van Eron’s Pro Soccer—had the same top-down action and arcade responsiveness as Sensible, only rather of appearing on the Amiga and PC in the early 90s, was released on the Commodore 64 and PC in the late 80s and was an instant and amazing hit.
